How does registration work?

Once you click on the registration link (which I will send out via the mailing list and on Mocking Bird), you will be directed to a registration form to fill out. The form will ask for your phone number and address but that information will never be shared with anyone. You will then be directed to paypal to make your registration fee payment. You will need a paypal account to pay your registration fee. Signing up for paypal is free and safe. Paypal will confirm your payment with an email. Once payment is made, your spot in the course will be reserved. I will send you orientation emails before the course starts with all the course info and passwords.

Can I pay in a currency other than Canadian Dollars?

Technically, yes. The cost is CAN $129 Canadian dollars however when you go to Paypal, it should allow you to choose the currency you wish to use. You will need to pay the CAN$129 and then Paypal should allow you to convert it into your local currency. You can use a currency converter like XE to figure out what the cost may be in your local currency before registering.

How does an online class work?

Once registered, you will be sent links to our private lesson blog, message forum and flickr groups. You will need to register an account on the forum and have a flickr account to access those areas. All are free to join. Our lesson blog is password protected and you will be sent an email with that information also.

Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, there will be posts on the blog for you to read at your leisure. You will not have anyone forcing you to complete any tasks but to get the most out of your time and money, I advise you to really put in as much effort as you can. Learning online needs a commitment from you if you want to gain something from the course.

I will be there to speak to and offer guidance via the blog, forum, flickr and email.

Will you be able to get feedback on your work?

Yes, of course. If you would like me to discuss your work, we can arrange a time to connect over email or in the forums. I will encourage you to email me with any questions you might have. There will be critique threads in the forum which allow you to post your work for feedback from me. One thing that is important to me is making sure that I connect with my students and caring for each person’s individual needs. One student’s needs may be to have every photograph critiqued and discussed, while another’s may be to quietly learn and work at their own pace and comfort level. Each class has all types of people with different types of learning styles and I do my best to cater to all those needs.

What will you need?

You will need a camera (DSLR or 35mm film are probably best but not neccessary), notebook/journal, internet access, a flickr account and an enthusiasm for learning. You will only get out what you put in. You’ve spent the money, so make sure you get as much out of the course as you can.

Can I get a refund if I have to cancel?

If you need to cancel, please email me immediately. If you email me at least 2 days before the class starts, I will offer a refund via paypal. Once the course starts, refunds cannot be offered.

Please email me with any other questions you may have.
