Have you noticed? Every day it seems I stumble across another blogger, artist, photographer or fashion designer who lives in Portland. I’m not sure whether Portland itself has a creative magical dust sprinkled between the leaves in the trees, whether the culture of the city automatically means its residents are artistically minded or artistically minded people are moving to Portland in droves. Whatever it is, Portland is sure home to fabulousness.

I have never been there myself, but The Canadian tells me that it is home to the greatest bookstore on the planet and one of my oldest online friends, whom I have hung out with twice now, hails from Portland herself.
Here is a mighty mega list of Phenomenal Portland People:

Yes, feel sorry for me, life is unkind and cruel! Be damned winter colds! So, I up and got myself a case of a 4 week(continuing) flu which has caused me no end of painfully, loud, bark like coughing over the past 2 days. Seriously, the neighbours will have been thinking that cousin Eddie’s dog was “hackin on a bone” in our living room.

I had major plans for a 3 day cavalcade of fun, intermittently dispersed with report writing, but I certainly did not entertain the idea of spending 3 days coughing and lying on a couch.

My only saving grace is that the silliest kiwis with guitars will be appearing on Aussie TV again tonight for the season 2 premiere. Watching Flight of the Conchords as an Aussie is quite entertaining. Never before have New Zealanders been able to so loudly poke fun at us. It makes me realise that we really are to New Zealand what America is to Canada.

Check out this awesome Business Time t shirt.

Happy Sick on the Couch Links:

Kiss The Groom- just discovered blog of one of my favourite photographers, Elizabeth Messina. The blog itself is divine to look at and the photographs speak for themselves.

Emily Hunt- Her Spectra shots are some of the best I’ve ever seen. She and Moxiee are my Spectra heroes.

Rockstar Diaries- Certainly not new to the blogging world but if you don’t know Naomi’s blog, check it out. She simply writes about her life with her husband but she manages to pull you in with her witty story telling and cute photos.

SAME OLD NAME, SAME OLD ME, just new pages to write upon.

It’s like buying a brand new Moleskine; a brand new Moleskine with milky pages whispering your name each time you run your fingers over them. Fresh new pages waiting for you to swirl over with a fine tipped felt pen.

I haven’t written properly on my blog since October last year. I needed a break, needed to find something new to be inspired by and needed to want to write. I knew that the time would come that I would want to write again, so here I am.

I hope to write about the things that I find inspiring, of course will write about all things photography, share new ideas and internet finds, and to keep a diary of sorts of my upcoming move to Canada. Yes, the Canadian and I are currently awaiting to hear if we have been approved for a spousal visa. The application process is a gruelling one and we have done the hard part, now we just have to wait. It’s a long road ahead but hopefully one that is full of excitement, happy anticipation and a successful final result!

Thanks for stopping by.
