Blackberry and Quince macarons from Adrian Zumbo

One of the best things about living in the inner west of Sydney is the gorgeous little cafes, patisseries and village lifestyle. A suburb not far from my own that I adore is Balmain. Balmain is full of gorgeous fashion stores, cute and quirky cafes and is home to super chef Adrian Zumbo’s famous patisserie. I took a little walk searching for his Cafe Chocolat and stumbled across the patisserie instead. I think I will have to put Cafe Chocolat on my list of fabulous things to do this week.

The patisserie is tiny with only enough room for one line of people, which usually forms out the door. His cakes and desserts are like artwork. The sour dough bread is sublime and most impressively, he has a cake named Amanda! I’ll have to try that out some other time perhaps.

Of course I came away with some delightful macarons to make me feel just that little bit more French.
