CAMERA EQUIPMENT

My camera equipment includes:

{Polaroid}

Polaroid SX 70: Original Polaroid SLR camera from the 70′s. I use this camera to shoot most of my Polaroids. Manual and perfect. My beloved…

Polaroid SLR680: Folding Polaroid SLR camera. Love the auto focus, love it just as much as my SX70. Very similar to the SX70 in film results. It spits my Polaroids out like a machine gun, so I have learnt to shoot and catch. It’s quite the skill.

Polaroid SX70 Sonar: Very similar to the original SX70 but with auto focus.

Polaroid Spectra System: Original Spectra camera with wider Spectra film. Fabulous camera which produces some gorgeous tones and loves the light.

Polaroid Land Camera Auto 340: Folding Pack peel apart film camera. I love shooting this when I have time to spend.

Polaroid 1200FF: My most modern Polaroid, takes spectra film, terrible flash. Haven’t touched it since I got the SX70.

Fuji Instax Mini 7s: Not Polaroid but instant and fun. I don’t like shooting this indoors as you can’t turn the flash off however it’s a great little party camera.

{35mm}

Nikon FM3A: Fabulously built, workhorse, dependable, last of the FM cameras. My favourite is my 28mm 2.8 Nikkor AIS lens. A beautiful lens and great for travel.

Yashica FX3: Unstable and non predictable but can create some beautiful tones and soft, creamy magic. I love it… I don’t trust it, but I love it. Picked him up in a used store in Seattle in 2006.

Lomo Fisheye: Such a silly camera but fun to shoot. Fisheye lens. Plastic.

{Medium Format}

Yashicamat 124 TLR: Twin Lens heavy mother! Takes some getting used to as everything is in reverse. 120 film.

Holga CFN 120: Ah, Holga. Plastic, cheap and lots of fun. 120 film.

{Digital}

Canon 40D with Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 135mm 2.8 , Canon 18-55mm. I use the 50mm for everything. The 135 is a great lens but I don’t get much use out of it. The kit lens is terrible. Don’t use kit lenses. Buy primes. Believe me, buy primes.

Digital Harinezumi: I use it mostly to make old school looking videos. There is no sound and everything looks kinda dreamy and 8mm-esque. LOVE it.

I also have a bunch of cameras that I use as door stops and paper weights. OK, not really but they don’t work and sit on shelves looking pretty.

    Hey there Amanda! Just found your blog from your twitter and it’s GORGEOUS here. :) Btw, LOVE this line, ” The kit lens is terrible. Don’t use kit lenses. Buy primes. Believe me, buy primes.” – couldn’t agree more! :D Loved my 85mm 1.8 but am selling it to buy a 50mm 1.4 – can’t wait!
