Hello friends! My name is Amanda and I take pictures. I think about photography for a good percentage of my day but when I’m not doing that, I am teaching Year 1 students.

I have photographed many live bands, including U2, had Polaroid work featured in the book, For the Love of Light , have had photographs featured in Polaroid Notes from Chronicle Books and currently have photographs featured in Frankie magazine’s The Photo Album.

For 5 and something years I wrote a personal blog called Lypton Village, which fluctuated between my life and music photography. It then migrated into Mocking Bird. In 2008, I decided to stop writing and focus more on what inspires me in photography, so I started the blog, Paper Cameras. Not writing couldn’t last long and here we are at Mocking Bird (version 2).

Here at Mocking Bird (version 2) I write about photography, inspirations, creativity and how to capture that within your everyday. My partner and I moved to Canada this year so I am using Mocking Bird as a memoir of my life in Sydney and my new life in Vancouver.

Check out my articles on what to look for when buying a film camera , choosing a Polaroid camera and How to make dreamy, film like photos. There are more feature articles of this nature coming soon. Subscribe to the RSS feed so you won’t miss them.
