Do You Instagram?

It’s no secret that my passion lies in film, but I must admit that I have been thoroughly enjoying using Instagram of late. I don’t love the look of the filters or the crappy quality of my phone images to say the least, but I really love the “instantness” of the app. There is a lovely little community beneath its walls and it is so easy to like and leave comments on friends’ images. I like the snapshot aspect of it and it’s such an easy way to record your day. Years ago I enjoyed shooting daily photographs for my photoblog and I have missed that regular documentary. It’s a style of photography that I’ve always loved and enjoyed.

p.s. That magazine I’m holding in the 4th shot down is the Chronicle Books Spring catalog. That’s Instant Love featured on page 6! So exciting! I love that we are nestled in there next to the Pantone book and the talented Nichole Robertson’s (of Little Brown Pen) Paris in Color. What fine company!

  1. I only have an iPad so I think I manage about one Instagram a month, hah. Usually I will take a picture with my cellphone and email it to myself, then grab it from the iPad, or load up a snapshot I took with my P&S. Definitely not very “instant.” :)

  2. I love instagram for the fact I can see what my friends are doing day to day all over the world. I use my iPhone as a ‘visual notebook’ in general and instagram is a great way to collate my favourite images.

PS Congrats on the ‘Instant Love’ feature – very cool indeed!

  3. I sure do – just started! I’m loving the instant gratification. No uploading, editing, just snap, done. I thought about starting a Tumble to post them all but perhaps just the feed is enough. I hate the idea of getting too widespread on the internet.
