Our Little Community

December 7: Where have you discovered community, online or otherwise, in 2010? What community would you like to join, create or more deeply connect with in 2011? For Reverb10

I think the most beautiful community that I have fallen head over heels in love with this year is the little community at this here blog. 2010 has been a great year of encouragement, support and conversation and I cannot thank you enough. I have loved getting to know those of you who regularly comment and have enjoyed reading your blogs and visiting your flickr streams. It truly means a lot to me that you lovely people have joined me here in this little pocket of the universe and I am looking forward to another great year ahead. From being brave enough to call ourselves artists to needing creative soulmates, from finding your own voice to being more than just your “job” , this year has been jam packed with great heart to hearts and it would have been just an empty pile of words without your thoughts.

So many times I was astounded at the conversation that took place on my little posts and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the discussions and thoughts. As far as looking to connect in 2011…I hope to continue to grow this lovely community and I’ve got a few ideas about how to do it but I’ll save that for another post.

Thank you for making the Mocking Bird community a lovely one in 2010.

p.s. And the photograph is just because I miss her.

  1. I just found out about reverb10 and still have to write my post for today, if I find time, but I think it would be something very similar to what you wrote. I am also very grateful for all the encouragement and inspiration I find in so many fantastic blogs, yours being one of them. so thank YOU :o)

  2. Mocking Bird was one of the first I started reading this year…never been much into blogging before, but blogs like yours always inspire, encourage and motivate me. Looking forward to more :)

  3. It never seizes to amaze me how uplifting women in the blog world are.

I have had days where just a few comments from well-wishing women have gotten me through—and I am so grateful for the deep friendships I’ve made.

I love coming here…it’s peaceful and warm :)

Here’s to another year of connection making on this fabulous planet!
