Summer Plans

For my first summer in the Northern Hemisphere I plan to:

  • Have my first summer birthday dinner on the patio in the sun (please be kind, sunshine). 34…Egads!
  • Take as many sun flared, warm kissed pictures as I can whether it be with the Polaroids, the Holga, Fisheye or Yashica.
  • Dare to dip my feet in the bone chilling Canadian ocean.
  • Watch as many sunsets over the water as possible. First one happened last weekend at Spanish Banks. Gorgeous!
  • Pack light for our Rockies Road trip. 1 week to go!
  • Spend many evenings outdoors with a cool drink.
  • Get ready to move into our own place- we are waiting to hear back, fingers and toes crossed! Spending far too much time pinning housey things to this.
  • Get my chapters written for the book.

What are your plans Northern Hemispherians?

Down Under lovelies, I do believe your mid winter temperatures are the same as Vancouver’s right now. What’s up with that? What are you planning on doing to stay warm? I bet I’m missing some gorgeous winter Sydney fashion!

  1. a bit of time at my mum’s first – my sister is coming with her family too so it will be a full house. maybe a few days at my sister’s cabin in the mountains. then several (hopefully) weeks with bf, who works in france for the time being. photography wishes: shooting with film without going bankrupt (is this actually possible?). learning how to use bf’s digital camera.
your summer plans sound nice =) I’m looking forward to seeing your photos!

  2. Happy Summer Solstice it was yesterday for the north!

I plan to see my brother’s baby boy due at the end of August.
    see each and every sunrise
swim in the Atlantic with a full moon
and spend every free moment having fun with friends new and old.

  3. Beauty Comma, I heart family time. :)
Oh, it’s so hard being apart from the one you love. Sean and I spent months and months apart when he had to go back to Canada before we lived together. It was tough.
haha well yes, i guess paying for film and developing can be pricey, especially if you’re a Polaroid lover like me. 35mm I don’t mind but Pola film is just so expensive now ugh!

wilB, new babies…*sigh* such a special time.
I’d love to swim in the Atlantic, I’ve never done it!

    Your summers sounds lovely.

  4. Yes it should be a good one, Barbara!

Allyn, I love the word soiree, it’s such a great word. Sounds delightful.

BC, how much do u pay? I had to shop around here. I actually just get my developing done at a drug store here and I have them put it on CD. It’s between $8 -$14 depending on roll size. I then choose the prints I want made and take the negs to a printer that I trust.

  5. Ah summer plans, I get excited just making them.

First off, my plan is to unpack our new apartment some more in time for a short visit from my family, then off to go camping with the in-laws for a week on Quadra Island. Then I wish for a summer full of sun, and bike rides in Stanley Park, gelato by the ocean, BBQ’s with friends, farmer’s markets, and picnics in the park.

It’s so lovely to think of those things on this cloudy grey June day.

  6. My plans are to go camping near my favorite swim hole. Do as much hiking as possible. Paint my heart out. Take many more photos. And visit the ocean. :)

Have fun in the Rockies! And best of luck on the House.
