Just Be
by Amanda on January 22, 2010
While it swelters at 36 degrees back home in Sydney, I am trying to hold on to the last of the sunshine and warmth that I tried to capture in all my pores on our little trip away.
It’s funny how a week in a completely different mindset can alter everything you were thinking and planning before you left. I feel like I’m floating through space right now and that’s OK because sometimes you just have to let yourself deal with the situation of your present. You have to allow your present to be your real place and stop planning, planning, planning because more times than not, things are never as you plan them to be.
In the meantime, I am excited about:
- The Canadian’s birthday.
- Gearing up for the final Lost by watching Season 5 again. Feb 2!
- Lots more fabulous “What’s in Your Kit?” interviews starting next week!
- The 2010 Olympics- even if the rest of Vancouver are not.

Such beautiful photos! My mother and I are moving to Australia (Victoria) from the UK, and these pictures just leave me wanting more!
Thankyou!

Hi Lucie,
Congrats on the move to Victoria! It should be a little warmer there for you. :)
Thanks for commenting.
Enjoyed the post and the pictures! They were very interesting. I’m excited about the Olympics as well! Sorry—-Vancouver!
Vacations definitely are nice in the way that they allow you to be completely removed from the day-to-day. I’ve always found it difficult to turn “life” back on when returning from a vacation. Those polaroids are so gorgeous and brought a little dose of warmth over to me here in cold winter-y NYC. :)
that snow cone picture is just great!
I love these photographs! Even though it’s cold in Scotland these are making me feel lovely and warm on the inside!!
As always, such beautiful pictures! I’m just having to do with whatever little sun the weather deems to send our way and cozy up with my fiance and my cat in the meantime.
I admit that a month ago, I was not looking forward to the Olympics, but now… yes, I kind of am. I’m thinking of even taking a day off of work to watch the torch relay. After all, when will I get to see it again?
You take such beautiful photo’s. It’s zero degrees and raining here in Belgium. I wan’t to be in one of your photo’s right now!
Love, Betsy.
Great photos! I love the feel of them!
