A.P.C. and Top Shop, Oh My!

img011b

Why must things always appear just as you’re disappearing?

Not only is Top Shop apparently coming to Australia, but I just discovered that a store in the Galleries Victoria in Sydney has been selling A.P.C. and I had no idea! I can’t tell you how many times I have walked past Incu and not gone in. Stupid! We are leaving the city { for the suburbs for 3 weeks} in 2 days and I discover it now! What is up with that?

So yes, I heard a big twitter rumour that Top Shop is coming to Sydney and apparently Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream is about to hit our shores.

I guess I shouldn’t complain as very soon I will be in the land of:

So yay me!

Do you Canadians and Americans ( or of course Aussies in the know) have any other stores that I should be keeping an eye out for? I know there was one store in Vancouver called Aritzia that has always had awesome clothes when I’ve visited. I will most likely want to hit the shops in the first week of arrival in North America…priorities! What are your favourite stores?

p.s. After much debate on our favourite girl crushes, a blog devoted completely to just that might take your fancy. Got A Girl Crush is fabulous…I opened the site to discover the latest crush to be Winnie Cooper. You can’t get anymore awesome than that.

  1. You named all of the really fun shops we have here to look forward to! I was also so happy to see Winnie when I check out Girl Crushes last time. It is really the sweetest idea for a blog and all of the girls are very well-chosen!

  2. In the US we also have j.crew which tends to have some really cute things, but I’m not sure if they are in Canada as well. (Although you would be pretty close to the US anyway, so you may want to keep it in mind for if you happen to visit.) http://www.jcrew.com

I will have to check out that Girl Crush site, I haven’t seen it yet. :)

  3. Hmm. I’m mixed when it comes to Aritzia as it’s really hit or miss and it’s extremely expensive for what you’re buying. That being said, if you hunt properly there are some great pieces to be found but Talula and TNA are among the lower end of quality. It’s definitely where all the cool teens/young 20′s shop! Personally I sway more towards Anthropologie!

Anyway I read Top Shop is coming to Canada. :)

  4. Ooh, yes, forgot about J Crew. Thanks Chuck.
Amanda, I had totally not even realised there was one on Robson when I was there last. My boyfriend was the one that reminded me there was lol
Bronwyn, that’s good to know about Aritzia. I have only ever bought one top from them and I do remember it being quite pricey. Oh yes, I have a hoodie from TNA!
I’m assuming Anthropologie still isn’t in Vancouver yet?
That’s awesome about Top Shop =D

  5. wow, topshop in aus?! i guess they’re branching out, what with new york and all.
    that’s awesome news!
i always wonder how they deal with the seasonal aspect of fashion though – right now they’re all preparing for autumn in the northern hemisphere. does that mean there’ll be a whole new design team based on southern hemisphere fashions?
    exciting!

  6. Hi! well I do not live in the USA, but in Mexico, but I think sometimes Forever 21 has awesome clothes and also Delias.
I actually won a trip to Australia and was wondering what are the “must go” stores to shop, and if You could add some pretty spots to see in Sydney would be awesome, thanks in advance!

  7. Manda dear. Come to Chicago and I will take you shopping. Except we have the highest sales tax in the USA (10.25%) so we’d have to hit the burbs. I second Indira’s Forever 21 mention. It is a lil ummm, younger for us ladies of our 30s (shhhh) but they have some incredible prices on really unique designs…Not top grade quality but when you want something new and cute and fun it’s a mandatory pit stop.
