Giant everything: drinks which start as size large/tall, giant fruit, giant cookies, giant shampoo bottles
After coffee gum: What the?
The number of StarBucks: its insane. They are everywhere. The corner of Robson St has 2 opposite one another! I’m quickly starting to hate Starbucks just because they are EVERYWHERE.
The cute beeping noise the pedestrian crossings here make.
Dog friendly town!: You will see dogs in stores, in cafes and signs on store windows saying ” Dog Friendly Store”. Or more strangely signs that say ” No Dogs Allowed”. Isn’t that a given??
One bookstore in Granville Island had a sign reading ” Dogs Friendly Store, Come in and have a biscuit. Biscuits at front counter.”
Warning Signs: There are signs which warn about COYOTES!!!!! Coyotes?????!!!
Seat warmers in cars: Both Mindy’s and Sean’s Dad’s cars have seat warmers!! They are the best invention ever. I didn’t want to leave either cars for my toosh was so cosy and warm. Australia gotta get some of them.
This shall continue with more sillyness discovered…

Volvos from the mid 1990’s onwards have build in seat warmers
for the front passenger, even in Australia. Very nice.

Hey Amanda!
Just came across your blog while I was searching for particularly Canadian things (how un-Canadian of me), and this list is great.
The Starbucks thing seems to be very Vancouver… I heard recently that one of the adjacent stores on Robson was closing.
Otherwise… I suppose I take those things for granted having grown up here in Vancity… I couldn’t survive without seat-warmers though.
